BIO
ALESSANDRA SORRENTINO is an Italian-born Art Director, Story Artist, and 2D Animator with over 20 years of experience in the animation industry.
She has worked with major studios including PIXAR Animation Studios, Netflix, Blue Sky Studios, Aardman, and Cartoon Saloon, contributing to titles such as Inside Out 2, Nimona, Wolfwalkers, Ron's Gone Wrong, A Shaun the Sheep Movie, Song of the Sea, The Breadwinner, and The Secret of Kells.
She currently serves as Art Director at Studio MDHR, leading visual development on the upcoming 2D hand-drawn animated video game.
Recognised with two Emmy nominations, Alessandra is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
She is dedicated to mentorship and education, having led mentoring programs at Pixar and Netflix and has taught at The Walt Disney Family Museum, The School of Visual Arts (New York), The Animation Workshop (Denmark), Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Italy), and Schoolism.
She is also a frequent speaker, leading workshops and keynotes at global events such as LightBox Expo in LA, IAMAG in Paris, Filem'on in Bruxelles, Xperiential and CalArts.
Alessandra currently lives in San Francisco, CA.
