Alessandra Sorrentino is an Italian-born Art Director, Head of Story, and 2D animator with over 20 years of experience in feature animation.
A two-time Emmy nominee and member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, she has worked with major studios including PIXAR, Netflix, Blue Sky Studios, Aardman, and Cartoon Saloon.
Her credits include Inside Out 2, Nimona, Wolfwalkers, Ron's Gone Wrong, A Shaun the Sheep Movie, Song of the Sea, The Breadwinner, and The Secret of Kells.
Currently, Alessandra is Art Director and Head of Story at Studio MDHR, the award-winning independent game studio behind Cuphead, where she leads the visual development of an upcoming 2D hand-drawn title.
Alongside her film work, Alessandra is passionate about mentorship and education. She has led mentoring programs at PIXAR and Netflix, taught at institutions including The Walt Disney Family Museum, the School of Visual Arts in New York, Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CalArts, and Schoolism, and is a frequent speaker, leading masterclasses and keynotes at international events including LightBox Expo in LA and IAMAG in Paris.
Alessandra currently lives in New York.
